update on the doc hunt
a few weeks ago, i mentioned that i'd compiled a list of pdocs in seattle that specialized in either mood disorders or women's health.
it took a while to get that list together, quite a few days of online research to find out who's who out here. of course, no specialists are on my insurance, so anyone off of the list that i choose to go with, will be out-of-network.
two of the guys on the list seemed to clearly be mood specialists and the most well known in their field in this area. the first one i called said he couldn't see anyone. the second one isn't taking new patients, but will do a one-time consult for $600. now, if several years worth of treatment haven't worked, i don't see the usefulness of a one-time consult, and i'm certainly not dishing out several hundred dollars for that.
after a few wrong numbers and all the other various things that can foil attempts such as these, i now have an appointment set up for this thursday with one of the doctors on my list.
i seem to have at least two other possible options after him if this doesn't work out, but i am rather tired of constantly switching around and of having such difficulty finding someone to work with.
i think that in a few more tries i might be ready to board a plane back to boston and not look back.
